Keeping Los Angeles Housed

It has been eight long months since we first activated our emergency Rental Assistance Program (RAP) to support the thousands of Angelenos who either lost their jobs or were unable to work due to COVID-19. Since our last RAP: By the Numbers update, we’ve reached several heartbreaking milestones signaling that the number of requests for assistance have not faltered since the height of the pandemic, in many ways, they have increased.

At the end of last month, we signed our 1000th rental assistance check, granting over $100,000,000 in rental assistance since March. This is no reason to celebrate. As we move closer to the holiday season, and even closer to the end of the eviction moratorium in January we are concerned for the many Angelenos who have accumulated back-rent and are unable to catch up, because they remain unemployed, under employed or sick due to COVID.

Consider donating today to keep our emergency Rental Assistance Program activated longer so that we can continue to assist women, children, and families in Los Angeles.

Recap the Election with AWG

These monthly meetings are a space for community members, leaders, and advocates to learn, plan, and reimagine what is possible WHEN communities join forces and advocate for the issues impacting those most in need. NCJW|LA is an open and safe place; we encourage, and welcome, and celebrate diversity and inclusivity at our meetings.

Our monthly meetings are NOW ONLINE and are taking place on the 3rd Friday of each month from 2:00-3:15 pM. Our next meeting is on Friday, November 20 at 2 pm. We are experiencing an election like no other, and during our November meeting, we will discuss the results of local, state, and federal election results and the immediate actions we can take to ensure our democracy is protected and restored.

Your Old Vehicle Deserves a New Mission!

You call it old reliable. You’ve experienced many firsts in that car, your first road trip, your first date, your first kiss. You can’t just throw it away! It’s always been there for you, yet it’s taking up space in your garage, and costing you more money than it is worth to repair. We can help!

NCJW|LA is now accepting vehicle donations through Careasy.org. The proceeds from your vehicle donation will go towards our mission to Advance Economic Justice and Equity for Women. What that means is, your donation will go towards our efforts to keep Angelenos housed, clothed, in school, and employed. Allow your old car to retire in honor, donate your vehicle today.
