Model poses at Disneyland, California, 1963

Lately I have been trying to focus on purchasing professional separates that would be appropriate and comfortable during the summer. Try as I might, the sad truth is I get distracted easily and have a hard time saying no to a (yet another) striped shirt. The photograph above illustrates my ideal outfit. I love clothes that you can throw on and still look “put together”. Even though “easy” clothes are probably more appropriate for working from home or weekend activities I still find myself buying casual things that make me feel confident on days when I otherwise feel “gross”. Although it is possible for me to overthink even the most minimal outfit I would still like to convey an outward appearance of effortlessness especially on days that I am inwardly frazzled. Every woman has a different go-to outfit. Me? I like a nice thin tee shirt, something that drapes, and dips below my collar bone with some skinny pants and flats. Now if I could just find a fitted silk blazer to wear during work meeting . . .
