As summer advocacy efforts slow down, the 2022 legislative year ends. We are excited to announce we will kick off our ATP series this fall!
We are excited to share that for the first time, and we will be offering two different training schedules:
Thursday evenings and Saturday Mornings – Stay tuned for dates and times
Lastly, this ATP cycle will be centered on learning ALL ABOUT Guaranteed Income. So, if you are a brand-new advocate, passionate about Guaranteed Income, and are a past or present GI recipient, this training is for you!
Congratulations to the Spring 2022 Scholarship Recipients

We are proud to announce the recipients listed above. They have demonstrated a tremendous amount of tenacity and leadership. We celebrate their brilliance and desire to contribute to society and their community as leaders in their chosen career paths. Learn more about our recipients.

First NCJWLA GI Cohort Update: Guaranteed Income (GI) for Caregivers and Healthcare Professionals
In July 2021, we launched our first Guaranteed Income Program for the families of Los Angeles Caregivers and Healthcare professionals who put their lives on the line to provide dignity and care for the most vulnerable in our communities. We provided $1,000 a month for one year, with our last payment completed in June 2022. Our research partner, the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Guaranteed Income Research, will continue to conduct post-program surveys through December 2022. We will share the research results with our wider community in spring 2023.
WHPGI Cohort First Payment - September 2022: West Hollywood Pilot for Guaranteed Income (WHPGI)
As Program Administrators for West Hollywood Pilot for Guaranteed Income (WHPGI), we will provide $1,000 a month for 18 months to older adults who are residents (housed and unhoused) of the City of West Hollywood and are low-income. We value the diverse voices of long-term residents of the City and will share their narratives and stories as the program progresses. We look forward to continuing our work as a springboard for community members to help empower individuals and families to stay housed and age in place with hope and grace.
Future Pilots In Development: In partnership with Cedars-Sinai, we are in the development stages of a new guaranteed Income program that will advocate for Los Angeles’ women’s health equity through guaranteed income programs. We are committed to programming that can then promote policies to help expand safety net protections for working women with direct cash assistance. We expect to announce more details about the launch of the Health Equity Pilot this Fall 2022.
Guaranteed income programs align closely with our goal to empower hard-working families to live with dignity and engage in policy-based solutions that recognize the need for innovative approaches to support individuals and families in achieving financial stability.

Here’s How It Works:
1. Call 855-500-7433 or complete the online donation form at https://careasy.org/nonprofit/national-council-of-jewish-women-los-angeles. Our vehicle donation support team is available seven days a week and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
2. Schedule your free pick-up. We arrange to have a licensed tow company pick up your vehicle at a convenient time and at no cost to you.
3. We receive the funds from the sale, and you could qualify for a tax deduction! Vehicle donations are tax-deductible, and we work to get the highest return per vehicle for us and your tax benefit. In most cases, when the driver arrives to tow your vehicle, you’re provided with the donation receipt. You will be mailed a thank-you letter within 30 days of the sale of the vehicle, which also serves as a donation tax receipt.
